GLASS FIBER

Fiberglass tank furnace molybdenum electrode

Rod Ø20–80mm | Length ≤1500mm | Sidewall or bottom installation

WeiBeam · Electrode solutions for high-temperature melting

These electrodes are used in the electric boosting stage of fiberglass tank furnaces. Installed through the sidewall or the throat, they supplement heating of the glass melt to stabilize melting temperature and deliver glass with uniform viscosity to the bushing. Fiberglass tanks run continuously for long periods, so dimensional accuracy and erosion resistance are critical. Standard rods are Ø20–80mm and up to 1500mm long, installed in the sidewall or bottom, with a long-term working temperature of about 1300 °C.

We provide selection and custom sizing for different tank designs, matching the drawing process, electrode ports and power supply, and support installation and operation.

In high-temperature melting and thermal-field systems this part is often used alongside electrodes elsewhere in the line. We recommend selecting them together against furnace structure, assembly method and working temperature to reduce thermal-expansion mismatch between different materials.

FEATURES

Fiberglass tank furnace molybdenum electrode — key features

Core characteristics for furnace conditions and operating requirements.

Fits tank layout

Ø20–80mm rods for sidewall, bottom or throat installation.

Steadier melting

Electric boosting evens out melt temperature and viscosity for bushing drawing.

Erosion resistant

High-purity molybdenum remains stable in glass melt at about 1300 °C.

Custom sizes

Diameter, length and connections set by tank structure and electrode ports.

FAQ

Common questions

Selection, customization and quotation questions.

How is the price of a fiberglass tank electrode determined?

Price depends on diameter, length, material and order quantity, so it is quoted per specification. Share the tank tonnage, electrode ports and required quantity and we will quote accordingly.

What is the best electrode layout for a fiberglass tank?

Layout depends on tank structure, drawing process and power supply. Sidewall or bottom installation is common. With the furnace drawing and process data, our engineers recommend positions and quantities to improve temperature uniformity.

How long do fiberglass tank electrodes last?

Service life depends on melting temperature, glass chemistry, current density and layout. Keeping current density at 1–3 A/cm² and matching the material helps extend replacement intervals; actual results should be evaluated against measured data.
