WeiBeam Expands Molybdenum Electrode Portfolio with New Lanthanum-Doped and TZM Alloy Series
WeiBeam · Electrode solutions for high-temperature melting
Building on its pure molybdenum electrode line, WeiBeam has added lanthanum-doped molybdenum electrodes and TZM (titanium-zirconium-molybdenum) alloy electrodes, aimed at duties that demand higher high-temperature strength and longer replacement cycles. Together with the existing specially processed pure molybdenum electrodes they form a complete portfolio from routine electric boosting to demanding full electric melting, with standard-size samples (1-2 pieces per company, freight collect).
To cover differentiated demand in high-temperature, high-stress duties more fully, WeiBeam has formally expanded beyond its existing specially processed pure molybdenum electrodes with two additional product series: lanthanum-doped molybdenum electrodes and TZM (titanium-zirconium-molybdenum) alloy electrodes.
Why add alloy electrode series
Pure molybdenum electrodes are widely used in glass melting, but where duty temperatures are higher, current density greater or replacement cycles longer, the material's creep resistance and high-temperature strength reserve become decisive. Lanthanum electrodes dispersion-strengthened with rare earth oxides, and TZM alloy characterized by titanium and zirconium carbide strengthening, have a higher recrystallization temperature, better strength retention at high temperature and equally good welding and machining behavior, making them the upgrade option for such duties.

Typical applications of the new series
- High-load electric boosting zones in large-tonnage glass melting furnaces;
- Aggressive high-temperature electrochemical duties such as rare-earth molten salt electrolysis;
- Structural parts and electrodes for crystal growth furnaces and high-temperature electric heating equipment;
- Long-cycle configurations for continuous lines where downtime cost is critical.

Supporting services upgraded in step
The new series continue the established service model: pre-sales selection advice based on furnace structure and power supply system, standard-size samples for verification on the customer's line, and volume adoption only after the benefit is proven with data. All products meet YS/T 1312-2019 and the stricter limits agreed in the technical agreement between both parties, with a quality certificate shipped with each order and traceable batches.
WeiBeam now offers an electrode portfolio covering three materials, pure molybdenum, lanthanum molybdenum and TZM, in bar, plate, rod and threaded forms.
