WeiBeam · Electrode solutions for high-temperature melting
A molybdenum boat is a boat-shaped high-temperature carrier, also called a molybdenum carrier boat, used to hold powders, granules or workpieces during vacuum sintering, melting, evaporation and heat treatment. Common wall thickness is 0.5–3mm; boat shape, length-to-width ratio, capacity and legs are made to the furnace and fixture dimensions.
Most boat failures come from wall thinning, local deformation and overloading. Size the wall and support method from the batch load, avoid a suspended bottom, and agree a minimum wall and replacement interval for repeated use.
In high-temperature melting and thermal-field systems this part is often used alongside electrodes elsewhere in the line. We recommend selecting them together against furnace structure, assembly method and working temperature to reduce thermal-expansion mismatch between different materials.

FAQ
Common questions
Selection, customization and quotation questions.
How is the wall thickness of a molybdenum boat chosen?
From the batch load and use frequency. Take a thicker wall for heavy or repeated duty and agree a minimum wall and replacement interval; thin-wall boats reduce thermal mass for light workpieces.
Can a molybdenum boat be reused?
Yes, but life depends on temperature, atmosphere, loading and ramp rate. Record batches and wall measurements, and replace when thinning or bottom deformation appears.
Can you copy an existing boat?
Yes. Provide the part or a drawing with wall, outline, legs and tolerances; a sample is recommended before a production run.
